Lego x McLaren Launch

Overview

McLaren Racing and the LEGO Group combined forces to create the LEGO® Technic™ McLaren Formula 1 Race Car. We were asked to create a series of promotional films using both McLaren drivers, Lando and Daniel and James Key, the technical director.

Our process

We love Formula 1 and we love Lego. When the two combined it almost sent us into shock. Once again, time with the drivers is incredibly tight and we only had 30 minutes to film the sections required. Having worked with Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris before, we knew exactly what to expect and knew they’d be receptive to the idea and the product - who doesn’t love Lego?

The reactions from the drivers were genuine, we had one chance to capture what they really thought about it so all cameras and sound were ready to roll when they arrived.
